Benzema: "We'll see what happens in June"

The french striker is fighting to win Jose Mourinho's trust but doesn't want to close the door to opportunities.

Karim Benzema has been criticized by the press all season because of his results, now Adebayor has arrived to the team. Benzema wants to prove himself, win the fans back and, above all, win Jose Mourinho's trust.
In a recent interview with 'RMC deporte', he leaves the door open for teams like Inter or Liverpool: "I'm 23 years old and I play for Real Madrid and the National Team. Sometimes people are hard on me, but I'm mentally strong. I feel bad for my family", he said.
"I only want to concentrate and I know very well when I don't do things well. I've got four months to score and help the team win. This is what motivates me every morning to train. Right now I cannot think of anything else, from now till June we'll see what happens", concluded Benzema.

Karim Benzema scored in his third successive international match as France beat 10-man Brazil 1-0 in a friendly on Wednesday.

The Real Madrid striker scored in the 54th minute after brilliant work from Jeremy Menez down the right, and could have scored five more goals.

Brazil midfielder Hernanes was shown a straight red card for an awful challenge on Benzema in the 40th minute.

Few news on Benzema

1. Cristiano on Benzema in Marca.

Q: Benzema is not taking advantage of Higuaín’s absence. How do you see him?</b>

A: My sincere opinion is that Benzema does not deserve all the things that are being said about him. If you analyze his last few games, you’ll see that he’s making an effort, that he’s fighting. Sometimes things don’t go well, but Karim has an enormous value for us.

Q: You could teach him about ambition. No one doubts that he’s talented, but he seems to be a bit too apathetic.

A: Each person has his own character, and he’s not doing badly. I think he’s doing well: he’s improving, helping out the team and he’s contributed in the last few games. Benzema is making an effort, and we don’t need to pressure him.

Q: Do you believe he will triumph in Real Madrid?

A: Why not? It will be much better for him if he’s allowed to work in peace and not so much is said about him.

Q: Who do you feel more comfortable with, Benzema or Higuaín?

A: With both, that’s the truth! I swear (laughs)! But there are always players that you enjoy playing with more than others. I like both of them. They’re both phenomenal boys, so it’s not fair to say who I like playing with more. Mourinho knows what I think.

Last night

Yesterday, Real Madrid played in Valencia against Levante. It was a Copa del Rey match. Real Madrid lost, but the overall score was 8-2, so they went through to the next stage.

Karim started but had few chances to do something, and was subbed by Kaká on the second half.
